BCC 2026-27 Achievement Grants

The Achievement Grant provides financial assistance to Burnie residents who have been selected to represent Tasmania or Australia in a sporting, academic, arts, cultural or youth endeavour. The grant acknowledges the achievement of selection and helps reduce the financial barriers to participation.

Approved applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will receive a grant of $200 per person, subject to available funding. Where two or more applicants are attending the same event as members of a team or group, the maximum grant payable is $600 per team/group.

This grant is a one-off contribution toward costs like travel, accommodation, uniforms or registration fees. It's generally not available to coaches, managers, parents or guardians (unless they're also officially selected in their own right), and can't be applied for less than 6 weeks before your event, or a second time in the same financial year.

Key dates: Achievement Grants are open all year until the annual budget is reached within the current financial year. Just apply at least 6 weeks before your event. Applicants are generally notified within 3 weeks of submitting.

There's no age restriction; applicants of any age who meet the criteria below are welcome to apply.
